Workers Struggle Museum "1906 Cananea"

Cananea Jail opened in February 1903, is the place where the events of the historic strike of 1906 had its epilogue, and the social struggle that arose there, considered the trigger for the Revolution of 1910.

The events that took place in Cananea, are considered within the Mexican labor movement of the twentieth century and the meaning it acquired this property which housed its main leaders, as political prisoners, reached international recognition, so it was declared a National Historic Landmark on it. June 1980.

The property was renovated in 1980 by the State Government as the original plans was converted into a museum which was inaugurated on November 19, 1981. Among its facilities are performed cultural events, exhibitions, workshops, conferences and book presentations.
